Carson Peters could never have met Bill Monroe. He's only 10-years-old and the Father of Bluegrass died in 1996. But he sure does know his way around one of Monroe's classics, doesn't he?

I like Ricky Skaggs analogy. I remember the stories about a 6-year-old Skaggs playing on stage with Bill Monroe. And look what happened to him.

And now you have Carson going toe-to-toe with another bluegrass and country music legend.

Maybe by the time Carson gets to be the same age Ricky was when HE started hitting it big, country music will have swung back around to a more neo-traditional sound like it did in the mid-80s.

In the meantime, we can enjoy Carson's extraordinary talents right now and certainly hope we see more.
