Carrie Underwood is between albums. As far as I know, she is WELL between albums. Her last single was last summer's "See You Again." And I haven't heard or seen any teasers about her next project.

So I'm not sure if this new song "Keep Us Safe" has been earmarked for radio airplay or if it was JUST written and recorded to benefit ACM Lifting Lives.

I'm sure we'll know soon enough.

She is currently on the charts as part of the hit duet with Miranda Lambert, "Somethin' Bad." But that doesn't mean her label, Arista Records, couldn't release this as a single.

And, in fact, if its purpose is charitable, I'd think releasing it for airplay would be the smart idea. And it's Carrie Underwood, the country superstar who has never peaked lower than #2 on the country singles chart through 18 releases.

"Safe" bet.

Maybe she'll sing it again when she returns to the Opry on August 19th. She'll share the stage with Trace Adkins, Terri Clark, Craig Morgan, Mark Chesnutt, and Sam Hunt.

And MAYBE you'll win tickets for that show some time this week during the Waking Crew Show.

Yep, I admit it. I saved the best for last.
