Many's the time I'll use this space to shine a spotlight--ahem, an OPRY spotlight--on a brand new artist (sometimes one whose name I've never heard) who's made indelible impression with a Grand Ole Opry debut performance.

But not today.

Last month, the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year stepped into that magic circle during the Opry's 90th Birthday Bash and just laid out an EXTRAORDINARY cover of an arguably obscure Waylon Jennings/Jessi Colter duet.
