Okay, this was my afternoon when I'd get home from school when I was a kid. Gilligan's Island at 3. Addams Family at 3:30. Batman at 4:00 AND 4:30.

I could live without The Addams Family, to be honest. But Batman was MUST-SEE TV before must-see TV was cool.

Unfamiliar with the old Batman TV series from the 60s? Well, it used to run half-hour long episodes that would play on consecutive nights during the first two seasons because they were all two-part episodes.

Obviously, I didn't see any of these until they hit syndication in the 70s! And being a HUGE fan of superheroes, I was hooked!

But, back then, I took the show seriously. I mean, for crying out loud, it was Batman and Robin fighting evil in Gotham City. Why would that be funny?

It wasn't until I was older that discovered satire and realized that that old series was a COMEDY! And a comedy, quite frankly, that I bet went over many heads at the time.

No offense.

So I enjoyed the Batman series in one way as a kid. And I've enjoyed it in the intended way all my adult life.

And I have looked and looked and looked for it on DVD for years, but to no avail.

Now, it finally has a release date. And I'll be there, wherever THERE is, to get my copies.

Of course, I wish I could get the entire series without the horrible third season, but we can't have everything.
