Avery, as many of you know, is a young cancer survivor.  And, since overcoming her own battle with the disease, she has rallied others to aid in that fight.  Avery helped organize the “Pennies for Patients” campaign at East View Elementary School earlier this year.  That fundraising campaign raised $3,690.63 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Avery also conducted an online fundraiser that collected an additional $440.

And, if you were tuned in to our annual St. Jude Radiothon this year, Avery joined us to share her story of survival.  Avery’s courageous experience inspired our listeners to give and her work at East View inspired her classmates and teachers to donate to "Pennies for Patients."

EVES guidance counselor LeVon Cozart says Avery has been an inspiration to the students and staff. “Avery is a very courageous, hard-working and caring child. She continues to show her strength every day as a leader at East View.”

Congratulations, Avery!  We are so proud of you!
