Owensboro Catholic senior Rebecca Greenwell is currently ranked sixth in the nation among the 2013 recruiting class. Until Thursday, Greenwell had narrowed down her choices in the NCAA to two, Notre Dame and Duke. She had also previously visited with Vanderbilt, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and of course visits with in-state rivals, Louisville and Kentucky. However, Greenwell broke the news on Twitter via a jersey photo that she would be wearing a DUKE jersey next season.Although listed as a 6'1" guard, because of her size, she can play anywhere on the court. She's been playing varsity at Catholic since seventh-grade. In eighth grade, Greenwell averaged nearly 19 points per game. She's also played internationally with the FIBA U16 and U17 teams, leading her U16 team to a gold medal and she got a co-MVP nod in 2011. Over the summer, Greenwell played with the Tennessee Flight, a Nike Girls team and led that team a championship. As for playing with her home team, Greenwell missed all last season with a torn ACL, so she will once again be one of the state's top players heading into her senior season with Catholic. She's back! And this time next year, she will start practicing with coach Joanne P. McCallie and the Lady Blue Devils.

Greenwell and the Lady Aces open up their 2012-2013 season hosting Apollo on November 30th.
