To encourage voter turnout, the City of Owensboro has teamed up with the Go Vote campaign and will offer free transit on Election Day.

If you are a registered voter and weren't sure how you were going to get to the polls November 6th, your worries are over.

The city will waive public transportation fees this Tuesday during regular transit hours, between 6AM and 7PM.

Buses will run on their regular routes.

Additionally, The Owensboro Times is reporting that Lyft will offer discounts, as well.

This is the first time in the city's history that public transit fees will be waived on Election Day.

I like the trend.
