Chris, who is 49-years-old, is representing Team USA July 25th-August 2nd, 2015 at the World Games in Los Angeles, California. He is just one of three athletes from Kentucky named to the team and is one of 7,000 athletes from 177 countries on hand for the event!

Chris, a 27-year Special Olympics veteran, earned his spot on Team USA earlier this year with a commanding performance at the Special Olympics USA National Games in New Jersey.  There, the Owensboro athlete won gold and silver medals in swimming.

This will not be the first time Chris has competed on the international level.  In fact, he won two gold medals at the 1999 World Games and is looking to go for the gold again in 2015 in the 50-meter freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke events.

By the way, you can catch the opening ceremonies of the World Games at 7pm CST, Saturday, July 25th on ESPN.
