This is HILARIOUS!! Saturday marked the 2013 Polar Bear Plunge at The Hines Center in Philpot and 200 plungers showed up to jump in the chilly, 22 degree waters of the Hines Center lake. Among them was Kizzy, who joined WBKR's team, Jimmy Parrot's Plungers. The cameras were rolling as Kizzy, decked out in a scuba suit, arm puffers and Korger bags, walked out onto the dock to prepare for her plunge. WATCH!
It's music's biggest night of the year! The 55th Annual Grammy Awards air tonight on CBS and lots of country stars will be on hand for the big event. Earlier this week, rumors were floating around that Grammy staffers were told to try and keep country divas Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift apart. Last week, in the season premiere, we were introduced to the latest batch of beauties vying for the hand of this season's bachelor, Sean Lowe. Well, Kizzy was tuned in and the weekly rose ceremony inspired her to run to the Kroger floral department, buy 20 roses, and hand them out to the men she considers to be her "bachelors." Yesterday here at WBKR.com, I shared vacation photos from my trip up Mt. Liamuiga in St. Kitts. Liamuiga is an active volcano on the island and some friends of mine and I had the privilege of hiking to the top of it. You can check it out HERE! But Kizzy called The WBKR Waking Crew yesterday morning to let me know that I didn't need to cruise all the way to the South Caribbean to see one of these wonders of nature. Casper "Cap" Gardner was Owensboro's mayor from 1954 to 1958. In 2007, an award was initiated in his honor to recognize city employees for outstanding service to the community. And for each of these past six years, Ms. Gayle Gardner--Mayor Gardner's widow--has presented the award.
