I learned some fascinating things about my grandmother while spending time with my mom on Mother's Day. First of all, there are several photos I remember growing up that always looked a little unusual to me, in that, while they were in color, they didn't seem to be like other color photos that I'd seen.
Actress Alicia Silverstone made headlines for telling the world that she "baby birds" her child. Ok, what the heck is "baby birding"?!? Haha! It's basically chewing up food in your mouth and giving it to your child. So, of course, while visiting the Precious Blood cooking team at the International BBQ Festival, this topic came up and ended with me "baby birding" Chad!
I DO NOT get paid enough to do the things that he makes me do, ha! I mean, what says "Mothers Day" quite like chewing up a pulled pork sandwich for your 40 year-old co-worker?!?

On Tuesday night, Jim Ed Brown, like he has for fifty years, stood in the famed circle at The Grand Ole Opry. He announced to the crowd that, for the first time in a long time, he was releasing a new single and he was doing it at the age of 79. See, that's the ebb and flow of any career, but particularly a career in popular music. Over the course of three decades (the 50's, 60's and 70's), Jim Ed Brown was a proven hitmaker. But strings of hits just don't last forever. While the hands on the clock refuse to quit spinning, the record players and the radio stations often times stop the "spinning" in its tracks. They routinely start "spinning" tunes from younger artists, the next generation of hitmakers. But this country music staple, this Grand Ole Opry icon, is still at it . . . with a brand new song in which he professes "I'd like to be in style again someday."
Suddenly, urban legends of western Kentucky are popping up all over the place. I just happened upon that feature about the Sheepsquatch on Sunday afternoon, and now the Goatman is rearing ITS literally ugly head.
It's that time of year when networks announce their fall TV line-ups and...they announce which shows won't be coming back. We all know it's tough to juggle all of our favorite shows; our DVRs can only hold so much. Most of the time, the shows that meet a dark fate were probably expected to, but the ones we love, it's almost too hard to hear. Okay, I'm talking about me, but let's take a look at what did and what didn't survive the axe.
This weekend is the traditional International BBQ Festival in downtown Owensboro. Yesterday, Chad and I broadcast live from the event. Now, we all know, there are a few things you're bound to see walking those downtown streets. We had made a short list earlier in the week and I was eager to see how many of those things that I would see in just four short hours. Well, unfortunately I did see some of those things, take a look for yourself...
I am a huge car fan! A classic muscle car or a shiny new pick-up truck can turn my head in an instant. I enjoy going to car shows, reading car magazines, and working on cars. Anything to do with cars, it catches my attention
Let's head to Sacramento, California and find out what happens on a run-of-the-mill Tuesday night. Well, if it's this past Tuesday, what happened was anything but run-of-the-mill.
Happy Mother's Day to all you ladies out there! Here's a special shout out to my sweet mom.
I could question Jeff Bliss's approach--a demonstration like that in our current school climate could frighten others in the class--and I would've never spoken to a teacher like that, but this kid had something to say. And millions of people are watching.
