Planning is underway for the 20th anniversary of the Daniel Pitino Shelter which will also include a roast for Father Ed Bradley and a special appearance by co-founder Rick Pitino!

The event will take place Saturday, September 13 at the Owensboro Convention Center. Doors open at 6pm, the roast will begin at 7:30pm. The event is casual dress.

The Shelter was organized in 1993 with the expressed purpose of creating transitional and emergency housing for the growing number of homeless persons in the Owensboro-Daviess County region. The ultimate goal is to provide assistance to their residents in securing permanent housing. The shelter operates a soup kitchen providing a daily meal, serving an average of 130 meals per day. Funds raised will allow the shelter to continue its mission of providing food and shelter to families within the area.

More information on the Pitino Shelter can be found here. The Shelter is located at 501 Walnut St. in Owensboro.
