It's going to get COLD tonight.  A wind chill advisory is in effect, which means it's pipe freezing season.  There are several small things you can do to prevent this from happening without wasting a lot of money and in a timely fashion.

Since we are under a wind chill advisory, we can assume that pipes that face outside walls and are near windows are subject to freezing and bursting.  We have some tips that can help you out and prevent your pipes from bursting during the deep freeze in the Tri-State.

Dan Kegley will give you a few step-by-step tips on how to prevent these freezes from happening.  If your kitchen sink is below a window, then the pipes underneath of the sink are on an outside wall which get's colder than interior walls.  The tip?  Simply let a little bit of water run out and it will keep the pipes warm.  A little extra on the water bill at the end of the month is cheaper than a visit from Mr. Plumber. This is just one of several tips that Dan will give you.
