Princeton, Kentucky Boy in Latest Dolly Parton Video [Video]

I was recently contacted by WBKR listener Pat McKinney who told me her grandson is in a new Dolly Parton video for “Together You and I”. Wow. He is 5 year-old Dalton Robingson. In March Dalton was diagnosed with Burkitt's lymphoma.   The cancer was discovered during a tonsillectomy in April. He was immediately taken to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville where tests were conducted and chemotherapy applied. According to Pat, “... they did a CT-scan and the cancer is gone!” Great news. He remains hospitalized in case of infections but we are all hoping he gets to go home soon. Meanwhile Pat says, “As you can see in his pictures, he still has that beautiful smile and such a sweet spirit about him.  They had a new little girl admitted to his floor yesterday, she didn't want to take her medication, so the nurse went and got Dalton, and he told her the "best" way to take it, and she took it.”

Dalton’s parents are Tommy and Katie Robingson of Princeton.  Dalton has five siblings.  According to Pat, Dalton was chosen to be in the video by Rascal Flatts who are huge supporters of the Vanderbilt Children’s unit. Says Pat, “there were several children there at the shoot at the hospital, but I would say he was chosen due to his smile and sweet appearance (bias thought I guess, ha)”.
