Pumpkinfest was a total blast...and that was just the PLANNED events and activities. I was heading toward the stage to announce another musical act on Saturday when Townsquare Media/WBKR Events Coordinator Melanie Leach walked up to me and announced, "We have a flash mob." Very cool.

Cooler still was the fact that it was a group from Puzzle Pieces getting ready to perform--and it was Michael Jackson's "Thriller" by the way.

Puzzle Pieces, located at 1512 Frederica Street right across the Messenger-Inquirer offices in the former Cliff Hagan's Boys and Girls Club facility, provides activities for those with intellectual disabilities as well as promoting independence, life skills, community involvement, social interaction, communication, and building different kinds of trusting relationships.

It was great to meet these ladies and learn about how they help our community. And it was a blast to watch them perform in the first flash mob I have ever witnessed firsthand.
