There's always something going on in music and rather than issue separate stories I thought I'd lump a few together for your reading and dancing pleasure. First, recording news from legends.

MERLE HAGGARD

Country Hall of Famer Merle Haggard has two music projects going on. One is a 45th Anniversary Edition of Okie from Muskogee. This will be a re-issue of some of Merle's best live performances. And the second release is a tribute to Merle from today's country artists. Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Toby Keith and a l lot more will be singing their favorite Merle classics. Can hardly wait for both.

ROY ORBISON

The great Roy Orbison who passed away way too young and just shortly after his comeback as part of the Traveling Wilburys has a new CD reissue. Here's the press release.

"Mystery Girl - Deluxe" brings together the original 10 songs, including "You Got It," plus nine previously unreleased studio and work-tape demos. Roy's three sons -- Roy Jr., Alex and Wesley -- produced and performed backup vocals. The package includes "Mystery Girl: Unraveled," a new one-hour documentary chronicling the song-by-song creation of "Mystery Girl" through archival footage and the memories of those who were there. The DVD includes eight Orbison music videos, four of which are previously unreleased including a piece documenting the renewal and rebirth of "The Way Is Love."

"Mystery Girl - Expanded" is an audio-only version of the original album with five tracks added to the line-up including "The Way Is Love."
