Today, as we raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, we are paying tribute to a young lady who changed the lives of everyone she encountered during her brief stay here on Earth.  In the words of her mom Amy, Emma Joy Ford "brought so much joy to everyone she knew."  And it's this joy for life that Emma inspired that brought Team Emma to the WBKR St. Jude family.  Team Emma has dedicated themselves to carrying on Emma's legacy by vowing to raise money for the fight against cancer and do it, tirelessly, in her honor.  For those of you who not having the chance to meet Emma, here's your chance.  Emma loved to dance.  She loved pink and sparkles.  And life.

Emma was just 2-and-a-half-years-old when she was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. She had surgery to remove the tumor and later received proton radiation treatment. But, despite battling the "monster", she passed away at the age of four. And, today, like they do every single day, Team Emma is remembering this brave and beautiful little soldier.

Here at WBKR, we, like Team Emma, are committed to doing everything in our power to help defeat childhood cancer. And that's why we are asking you to become a St. Jude Partner-in-Hope. You can do that by calling 1-800-201-8883. A St. Jude Partner pledges $20 per month for 12 months on a debit or credit card.

Emma's parents, Steve and Amy, have been St. Jude Partners for nearly 20 years. And their daughter's story will continue to inspire others to pick up the phone and join in the fight.
