'Tis the season for road construction. It's everywhere you look. And if you're looking down US 41 and the Pennyrile Parkway beginning Thursday night, you'll see quite a bit of it.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning to set up rolling road blocks along 41 and the Pennyrile in the Henderson area Thursday night beginning about 7PM.

A contractor will be setting overhead sign truss structures above the roadway and the blocks will create a break in traffic flow so the signs can be put into place.

Kentucky State Police will be on hand to assist the installation by slowing the traffic for several miles to create a gap, which will result in a 10-15 minute stoppage in traffic and that will, in turn, give the crane the necessary room to set the truss systems in place.

Here are the times and locations involved:

7:00 p.m., CDT

US 41 southbound lanes at mile point 14.25.  This is along US 41 just north of the KY 351/Zion Road Interchange.

9:00 p.m., CDT

US 41 southbound lanes at mile point 13.72.  This is along US 41 just south of the KY 351/Zion Road Interchange.

11:00 p.m., CDT

Pennyrile Parkway southbound lanes at mile point 76.55.   This is along the Pennyrile Parkway between the Audubon Parkway Interchange and  the KY 425 Henderson Bypass Interchange.

This installation procedure is part of ongoing work being done to prepare for the transition of the Pennyrile Parkway to Interstate 69.
