Shop with a Cop
During the Christmas season, numerous organizations open their hearts to help those in need. These organizations help get food and clothing for families that need it, or help make sure children do not go through Christmas with nothing under the tree. One of those organizations is getting ready for its annual event.
The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #16 is gearing up for its annual Shop with a Cop event. Members of the FOP lodge #16 are planning to make Christmas special for approximately 90 local children this year. The children are selected after being referred to the program from various organizations, agencies, schools, and shelters.
This year the event will start at Hall Street Baptist Church at 5:30pm on December 11th. The selected families will get to meet the volunteers. Afterwards, the buses will be escorted to a store, where the families will be paired up with local law enforcement officers to shop.
It is great to see organizations like this come together to help others. And this is just one of the many great organizations in our area that do events such as this! We are truly in a caring community.
