Nathan Schroer is well-known here in the tri-state.  Not only is he an Evansville police detective, but he's also a member of the well-known band The Redemption Song.  But Nathan's gaining even more attention these days because of his brave battle with leukemia.  In recent years, he has had good days, bad days.  He's fallen in and out of remission.  And now his cancer is back . . . again.  But Nathan's community is stepping up to help with a stem cell donation drive in his honor on Sunday, November 3rd..

The drive is taking place at both campuses of Northwoods Church from Noon to 4pm.  The Evansville campus is located at 9920 North Green River Road.  The Newburgh campus is located at 8122 Robin Hill Road.  It simply takes about 5 minutes to fill out a brief survey and get swabbed and be placed on the stem cell donor registry.  It is absolutely free, but donations to the organization Delete Blood Cancer are encouraged.  Anyone between the ages of 18 to 55 can participate.

Folks on the stem cell donor registry can actually save lives and that is most certainly the goal of Sunday's event as potential matches for Nathan are sought.
