As you guys know, we are just a few days away from the Sugarland concert at Roberts Stadium in Evansville!   So, you're invited to tune into The WBKR Waking Crew all week long for your chance to win tickets to the show.  Yep!  Moon and I want to be your SUGAR DADDIES!  (That said, I am pretty certain that the term "Sugar Daddy" implies a certain age that only Moon has achieved.  I'm still a spring chicken.  But, I'll be your Sugar Daddy too if it means giving you the opportunity to see one of my favorite acts in country music!)

I make no bones about the fact that I am a HUGE fan of Jennifer Nettles.  Now, there are some folks out there, like my friend Tara (I wasn't going to name names.  LOL!), who say Jennifer's voice grates on their every last nerve . . . like Gilbert Gottfried, or nails on a chalkboard, or a cat that screams when it gets wet, or Jaclyn when she sees a vending machine!  In fact, I'm pretty sure my friend Tara (whose last name starts with an "E' and rhymes with "asbestos") would rather drive ice picks into her eardrums that listen to Jennifer Nettles sing.  But, not me.  I love her voice, love her attitude, love her stage presence, and I love the way she tears into any song and just wrenches every piece of emotion out of it.  If you haven't heard her sing "Stay" in person, you haven't lived.  And, because I want all my radio peeps to get the chance to hear Jennifer (and Christian . . . it would be rude to forget about him) in person, I rounded us up some more tickets to give away!

As for me, I've already seen Sugarland's Incredible Machine Tour once.  I had the chance to catch it last August when they opened the KY State Fair.  It was an AMAZING blend of country and pop and they're getting ready to cook it up  in Evansville.  And I am going AGAIN!  Plus, in case you haven't heard, they are continuing their commitment to the fusion of musical genres by inviting not one, but TWO opening acts . . . one country and one pop!  I am, personally, loving the blend.

Joining Sugarland will be Matt Nathason, who recently ruled the pop charts with "Come On Get Higher," and Little Big Town, who resurfaced on the country music scene with their foot-stomping hit, "Little White Church!"  By the way, I'm selfishly hoping that LBT performs their bluegrass-country version of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way."  Video of their hallway performance of that song hit the web last week and it was AWESOME!!  So clever, so fun and their harmonies will make hair grow on your toes.  Well, except in my case, because I already have TONS of hair on my toes.  I look like a sloth or, better yet, a hobbit from Lord of the Rings!  (And, suddenly, because of my ADHD, I am way off task . . .)

Oh yeah.  Sugarland.  Concert.  Evansville.  Remember, Chad?  Yes, I remember.  Tickets for Sugarland's Incredible Machine Tour are still available at www.ticketmaster.com/event/05004645C89876C1?artistid=881322&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=2!  As a matter of fact, while I was writing this blog I did a search for 2 tickets at Ticketmaster just to see what kinds of seats/tickets are still available.  A pair of General Admission tickets popped up!!  That's awesome . . . because those are similar to PIT tickets and they are BY THE STAGE!!!

And, speaking of tickets, we have more chances for you to win them right here on The Country Station, 92.5 WBKR!  Just be sure to tune into The WBKR Waking Crew each weekday morning through April 29th for your shot at winning some "sugar!"  And, be on the lookout for our special SUGAR SHACK remote locations!  Those locations and register-to-win times for each are TBA!  And, remember, your chances of  snagging tickets have increased considerably, because my friend Tara has NO desire to win them at all!  That's one less obstacle standing in your way.
