Last night, Survivor moved into the next phase, the best phase. We have merged! And young Matt, who has spent the last six weeks battling on Redemption Island in an effort to return to the game, just isn't paying attention.

When he was voted off on this season's first episode, it was because he had expressed some doubts about a decision Boston Rob had made. Huge mistake! Boston Rob, perhaps the best Survivor player to have never won it all, doesn't like being questioned. I certainly wouldn't question him. This guy knows this game like the back of his hand. The creativity he employs to manipulate his fellow castaways is unlike anything I've ever seen. And I've been watching this show since day one back in 2000. Now, it makes sense that Rob would have a huge target on his back how that we're down to the one tribe. But he's got an ace up his sleeve in the form of a hidden immunity idol that even his fellow pre-merge tribemates know nothing about. Watching Matt have the conversations he had on the show last night just made it clearer and clearer that this kid is out of his league. And at the very end of the episode, he even admitted to not being very good at this. Ya think, partner? He's a good guy. He really is. But when you're playing Survivor you have to be an expert at swimming with sharks. And Matt's spending an awful lot of time in the kiddie pool.
