The Owensboro Parks & Recreation Department league will be non-competitive with the emphasis on teaching players the fundamentals of how to play and enjoy baseball. This will be followed by a post-season competitive tournament, where the players will get to demonstrate what they have learned throughout the regular season.

The league begins in May through mid-July. All games will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Owensboro Softball Complex located in Jack C. Fisher Park. Game times will be at 5:45-6:45 p.m. or 6:50-7:50 p.m. for each league and will vary each week.

According to a press release from Owensboro Parks and Rec, there will be a mandatory parent informational meeting for each age group: 3-4 year olds Tuesday, April 10th and 5-6 year olds Thursday, April 12th with each meeting being at 6:00 p.m. at the Sportscenter. Only one parent needs to attend the meeting and may purchase team t-shirts for $10 each at this meeting only.

The registration fee for the summer T-ball league is $62 per child. Plus, parents can take advantage of a "Sibling Discount" of $15 per child per for each additional sibling registered after the first child who resides in the same household. This discount is not applicable to scholarship campers. The deadline to register is March 31.

Each participating child will receive a team t-shirt, hat, award and . . . wait for it . . . a swim party at Combest Swimming Pool.
