With his 2013 national college basketball title with the Louisville Cardinals, Peyton Siva has been immortalized in college sports history. And now, thanks to Owensboro artist Aaron Kizer, Siva is being immortalized on canvas as well. Here at WBKR, we are huge fans of local artist Aaron Kizer. Personally speaking, I think Aaron is just amazing. His talent is undeniable and people around the world have taken notice. But, those of us who know him personally know that Aaron is much more than a guy with a paint brush. He is an artist with a heart as pure and as beautiful as the creations he paints on canvas. Because of this and his charitable commitments and offerings around the community, I just had a hunch I should jump on board his Black Print project. Sure, it sounded a little ridiculous to spend $30 on a sheet of paper that was simply painted black. But, I think everyone who bought a print knew that there was going to be something very impactful in doing so. Turns out, there was!

By now, you know Kitty's husband, Aaron Kizer. His speed paintings and unique performances have made him a household name in the tristate and beyond. In addition to being wonderfully talented, Aaron is also very charity-minded. He routinely donates his talents to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude, CASA and others in an effort to help them raise money for their causes. But, as fate would have it, Aaron now has to use his talents for his own sake and the sake of his wife, Kitty.

Not only will Nine 1 Nine showcase Kizer's amazing speed painting skills . . . it will reintroduce one of the most influential acts in rap. Yep! This year, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital celebrates its 50th anniversary. It was 1962 that Danny Thomas' dream of creating an institution to battle catastrophic childhood illnesses came true. And, this week on The Country Station, we are continuing our pledge to help raise money for St. Jude so that "no child may die in the dawn of life." And, we are raising money in a variety of ways above and beyond our 26-hour radiothon! In fact, last night, at our 2nd annual 'Denim and Diamonds' concert fundraiser, local artist Aaron Kizer joined us to unveil an exciting piece of artwork we are auctioning for the hospital! It's currently on Ebay and we want you (and everyone) to check it out!

On Friday, Aaron will join the cast of "Denim & Diamonds"- WBKR's Concert Fundraiser for St. Jude and will be unveiling a painting with historic significance for the the hospital.
