But, we call it the "Blue Bridge" because of its color. Kentucky and Indiana highway officials have indicated the bridge is scheduled for repainting in about 2017 (which happens to be Owensboro's bicentennial) at an estimated cost of 8 to 10 million dollars. But, I have a hunch it may be sooner. Word is out Governor Steve Beshear in speaking tomorrow at Riverpark Center about the bridge. What else could it be? Gotta be a painting before 2017.

Closed since July 5th the last time the bridge was available for non-vehicle traffic was 1940 when it opened. This morning my wife, Debra and B. Dawn Kadonk from the Demolition Dolls, Evansville's Roller Derby and I crossed the bridge.
