Disco Diva Donna Summer Dies [Video]

Devasted.  Several of us here at WBKR are just devastated.  News has surfaced that disco legend Donna Summer passed away this morning at the age of 63.  I grew up in the 1970's . . . during Summer's heyday . . . and her music was most definitely part of the fabric of our young lives.

Cancer Patients Perform Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger” [Video]

Have you seen this?  This is asbolutely moving and empowering and it's become an Internet sensation with over a million views.  Kelly Clarkson recently burned up the Pop charts with her #1 hit single, "Stronger."  And, now the song is achieving even greater heights because of the latest group of folks to perform it.  Meet the young cancer patients of Seattle Children's Hospital.  They know exactly what Kelly is singing about in this song and they give the anthem their own special interpretation.  What doesn't kill them makes the STRONGER!  You've gotta see this.

Fight Cancer And ROCK IT WITH RYLAN!

February is one my favorite times of the year here at WBKR.  That's when we get to rally your support to help raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.  For 26 hours over two days, we ask the tri-state to join us in the fight against childhood cancer.  We introduce you various families who have had to hear those words, "Your child has cancer."  Well, I'm quite sad to report that, last month, Jared Daugherty, a former member of the WBKR family, had to hear those words, "Your child has cancer."
