Okay, I will admit it. I don't know where I have been or how I missed this show. But, over the weekend, I was flipping through channels and came across an episode of The Will: Family Secrets Revealed. Have you all heard of this? It's a show about deaths and family struggles over wills and inheritance. It's really bizarre and, quite frankly, embarrassing. And, get this. The episode I happened across was about Conway Twitty. Check this out!

I remember the day Conway passed away all too well. It was just three days before my first son was born - I was devastated just like the rest of the world.

Conway passed away far too young at the age of 59 - collapsing on his bus after a concert in Branson, Missouri from a stomach aneurysm.

We miss you Conway but the great music you left behind will live on forever!

I love this quote from Conway summing up his career: 'I've survived and stayed on top. I worked my way up there and stayed there and I did it without taking dope.'

His birth name was Harold Jenkins he changed his name in 1957 to Conway Twitty by borrowing the names of Conway, Arkansas and Twitty, Texas. He started his career as a Rock N’ Roll singer but later went on to have 55 #1 Country hits before he passed away June 5th, 1993.

Where do I begin? In 1970 Lynn Anderson had a hit with "Rose Garden." In 2005, Martina McBride re-recorded the song for her "Timeless" CD. In 1988, Conway Twitty released "Goodbye Time" and in 2005 Blake Shelton also did a great job with the Conway classic. In 1980 Dottie West released "Lesson in Leavin." In 1998, Jodee Messina also covered the song on her "I'm Alright" CD. So many timeless classics, alot of them re-released and sounding just as good as the original. Hope you enjoy some of the video's and be sure to let us know on our WBKR Facebook page on your favorite classic remake?
