The folks that put the show together asked Merle several months beforehand to do the show. At first he wasn't well enough after having battled cancer. Then, he didn;t want to see a bunch of radio people, "Who don't play my music". Well, Merle, "These are the guys that DID play your music". After he was told that he agreed to come.

I'm glad because I'd been playing Merle's music since 1964. And, now he's on Twitter!
