Garth Brooks and a 2014 World Tour?

The first country concert I ever saw was Garth Brooks' tour way back in the late 90's.  And, I can honestly say, I haven't seen anything like it since.  But, there is good news brewing and rumors are swirling that Garth may be ready to hit the road again in 2014. But are the rumors true?  We aren't sure but it appears the thunder may be rolling.

Kelly Clarkson Duets with Trisha Yearwood at CMA Music Festival [Video]

Hello, my name is Chad Benefield.  And I am an addict.  I am apparently addicted to Kelly Clarkson.  For the second day in a row, I am posting video taken from the CMA Music Festival.  Yesterday, I posted video of Kelly singing her new country single "Tie It Up."  Today, I am posting footage of her duet with Trisha Yearwood.  That's right!  Trisha showed up and the two tore into a classic Garth Brooks song.  Take a look . . .

Two Country Megastars To Perform Together At The ACM Awards

The Academy of County Music Awards will air Sunday, April 7th on CBS in Vegas! With my boyfriend Luke Bryan and funny-guy Blake Shelton hosting, I didn't think I could get any more excited about the show! Well, I was wrong!

People.com reported on Wednesday that two country megastars will be performing together at the show for the first time ever! These artists are the two most recent winners of the ACM Artist of the Decade Awards.

Who do you think they are?!?

Two of the biggest country stars of the last few decades....

Strange Super Bowl National Anthems [Video]

Today, the performance of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl is just as big a media spectacle as the half-time show and the game itself.  Huge stars are asked to deliver rousing renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" as the whole world watches to see if they mess up the words, lip-synch or perform live.  In the last few years, we have seen amazing renditions by Kelly Clarkson, The Dixie Chicks, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill and Jennifer Hudson.  Way back in 1993, even Garth Brooks stepped up and swung for the fences.  But, historically, there have been some STRANGE choices and some really bizarre renditions at The Big Game.  WATCH!

Garth Brooks Inducted Into the Country Music Hall of Fame [VIDEO]

Well, this makes me feel old. Of course, the honor is richly deserved. It's just that I remember playing his debut single "Much Too Young" for the first time in 1989, and now Garth Brooks is an official member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Shoulda Been a Hit: Garth’s “When You Come Back To Me Again”

This week's Shoulda Been a Hit column is going to look a little different.  Normally, I include the official video for the song that I choose, but, given Garth's disdain for YouTube and ITunes, that's just not going to happen.  And, now, I know what you're thinking . . . "Garth Brooks had a song that wasn't a hit?"  He sure did.  It was "When You Come Back to Me Again," which peaked at a disappointing #21 on the Billboard Country Chart.  How on Earth was that possible?  The song had everything going for it.

Scotty McCreery Sings “The Dance” at Grand Ole Opry [Video]

Regina Regina Regina Howard, The WBKR Waking Crew's resident "nut," called in Monday morning to request a song.  She wanted to hear Scotty McCreery's version of 'The Dance" by Garth Brooks.  Regina said she heard him do a version of it at The Grand Ole Opry and it was "wonderful."  I hadn't heard it.  So, I did some research and found it!  This video was only uploaded to YouTube a few days ago and it has already become quite a smash on the web.  LISTEN!

Joan Rivers Hates Everyone . . . Including Country Stars

Joan Rivers new book, I Hate Everyone  . . . Starting with Me, is hilarious.  I picked it up because I wanted something fun and light to read while I was lounging by the pool on vacation.  And Joan delivered with 242 pages of raucous, laugh-out-loud one-liners.  In the book, Joan takes on virtually anything and everything you can think of . . . including country music stars, who get a big shout-out on page 155.  Wanna know what Joan says about them?
