Are Glasses a Trademark Look for Country Singers? [VIDEO]

Country singers like John Conlee who wore rose-colored glasses on stage made him a household name. Hank Williams Jr. pretty much has to wear glasses after his terrible mountain fall back in the 70's, but it made a trademark look for him with his cowboy hat, beard & dark sunglasses. And today Eric Church wears sunglasses on stage as well. So I guess it works to portray the image these singers want and sometimes it works out pretty well for them!

I became a Hank Williams Jr. fan back when I heard "Dixie on my Mind" played on WBKR back in 1981. I have seen him in concert seven times, and that man has put out a lot of great music over the years.

Fans of all music genres will fill the seats of Freedom Hall during the Kentucky State Fair Main Stage concert series. Three of the four Main Stage Concert Series acts will feature performances by country legend Hank Williams Jr, rock group Journey and popular country band Rascal Flatts.
The 2012 fair will run from Aug. 16-26 at the Kentucky Exposition Center and Main Stage Concert tickets will go on sale at the Freedom Hall Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (800) 745-3000 and online.

Hope you got a chance to watch the CMA Awards Show last night, there was some great performaces and not so great performaces, I won't name names but overall I thought it was a pretty good show. I think Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley do a great job at hosting, their opening monologue was very funny featuring Hank Williams Jr. and the Faith & Tim Barbies.

Last night was the final concert at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Indiana with Kenny Chesney & Uncle Kracker. Roberts Stadium has been a landmark in Evansville since 1956 with visits from Presidents, Elvis Presley, WWE, monster trucks, baskeball games, rodeos, The Harlem Globetrotters, boxing, superstars like Garth Brooks was there in the 90's & WBKR played a major part Garth being there, I've seen Hank Williams Jr. numerous times at Roberts Stadium.
