Yesterday was my second time to have the honor of playing the Big O Music Fest. In one word, the day was AMAZING!! Speaking for my band, we were truly honored to share with the stage with Blake Shelton, Tracy Lawrence, JoDee Messina (my new BFF!), Gloriana, LoCash Cowboys, Joanna Smith and Brian Hart.

I've never played in front of that many people before, but I'm really hoping that it won't be my last! The crowd was awesome!!! Here are a few pics of my day at the Big O! Tune in Monday morning to hear all about my day! I've got lots of fun stories!!

But, last Friday at the International BBQ Festival, Jaclyn faced one of her greatest fears . . . the ZIPLINE! Despite all her reservations and the ridiculous scene she was making, Jaclyn eventually saddled up with our friends from Lexington-based NEW HEIGHTS and let er rip! And, yep! The Lanham Brothers Jamboree returns to Diamond Lake's GOOD TIME Theatre on Saturday, April 14th and Jaclyn and I are headlining the first show of the season. Naturally, she accused me! Now, on any given day, there are DOZENS of volunteers our Christmas Wish office. Any single one of them could have reached into Jaclyn's mongrammed 31 Bag and taken out that blasted icing-filled tree of delight. But did she think about the other possibilities??? NO!!!!!! The Louise Mandrell Christmas Dinner Party is now playing at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville and, last night, Jaclyn, Dave Spencer and I went to the show! Louise sang, danced, played a variety of instruments and told holiday stories about the Mandrell family. Before the show, the staff inside the Tennessee Ballroom served up an amazing holiday dinner with all the trimmings! And, when it was over . . . each table was served boxes of Christie Cookies! Well, naturally, we dug right in! But things started to get a little hairy when Jaclyn decided to see how many of the cookies she could stuff into my face! Watch!

Each year, for that event, Halloween Havoc outfits the WBKR staff so we can man (or woman) the checkpoints on the Road War course in style. So, Jaclyn and I decided that we would go to the store and do a Halloween fashion show. That way, you guys can see some of the awesome and scary costumes Halloween Havoc has to offer. And, because I am a good uncle (or a glutton for punishment and torture) , I suggested that little Jaclyn Jr. (a.k.a. Carsyn) come along for the ride. Well, little Rosemary's Baby was in quite a mood!

Wednesday, Jaclyn and I celebrated Grocer's Day at Houchen's IGA on 25th Street in Owensboro. In fact, there were American Cancer Society teams at every Houchen's location in the area selling pink ribbons for ACS' breast cancer research programs. WBKR is a proud supporter of the American Cancer Society and its two primary fundraisers each year, Relay For Life and Making Strides. So, naturally, Jaclyn and I volunteered to visit Houchen's and bag groceries for charity. But, because we are the poster-children for ADHD, we got completely distracted and hotwired the motorized carts. Let the drag race begin!!

Uncle Tad Critiques Carsyn's Recent Photo Shoot!

While I was on vacation, WBKR midday gal and my good friend, Jaclyn Graves, subjected her young 2-year-old daughter Carsyn to a grueling photo shoot in honor of her birthday. Apparently, when you reach the Terrible 2's you are supposed to endure a photo layout for Elle magazine. Now, Jaclyn will tell you that such photos are a rite of passage for female toddlers. After all, she was raised by crazed pageant coach who was always looking over her right shoulder for the next Miss America. I, on the other hand, question the emotional impact such a photo shoot has on the fragile psyche of young, sweet Carsyn. I mean, look at her in the photo above. She looks MISERABLE. If she was Drew Barrymore in Firestarter, those bangs would be blowing in the wind right about now and that barn would be going up in flames! Let's take a look at Carsyn's other photos from the shoot and see if we can learn some valuable life lessons or, at the very least, some necessary parenting skills.
