During the Kentucky Derby week, Have the Kentucky high school all-stars play the Indiana high school all-stars. Max made a ton of money promoting those early games and he eventually sold the concept to McDonalds which called it "Shoot the Hoop".  I am glad to say after all these years it is still a big event. No longer just Kentucky and Indiana, the classic is back Friday night and tickets are on sale.

The Derby Festival Basketball Classic has showcased some of the nation's finest high school talent before the players move onto collegiate and professional levels.
