We had a blast hanging out with Jo Dee Messina backstage at The Big O Music Fest.  And, after Jo Dee got over her initial "Kizzy" shock, the two became fast friends.  In fact, Kizzy told Jo Dee that she 's a big fan of her song "Lesson in Leavin" and the two belted out an impromptu duet.  Luckily, our cameras were rolling!  WATCH!

Last week, I hosted another Big O Yard Party in the front yard of the studio. We were very lucky to have a special guest there... Kizzy!! She came out and made her signature kool-aid, helping us raise money for Relay For Life. Take a look as she, in a way only Kizzy can, introduces Chad to her kool-aid.

It is hard to believe it's time for Owensboro's famous International Barbecue Festival. A week from Friday it opens and all the great barbecue aromas and thick, blinding smoke will waft through downtown. WBKR will be broadcasting from the event on both days. My favorite year was 2009. I was joined on the air by Kizzy and on the streets by lovely Mrs. Moon.
