After completing treatments, she was considered "cancer free" in December 2012, then her first quarterly scan in March 2013 showed two golf ball size tumors in her lungs and a bone marrow biopsy revealed cancerous cells in her bone marrow as well. She is currently undergoing chemo and then will have a stem cell transplant.

There will be a rummage sale to help the family with medical bills June 21st (6:00pm - 9:00pm) and 22nd (8:00am - 2:00pm). The sale will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro.

Since her diagnosis, Lydia's family, friends, and community have rallied around her as she faces some tough months ahead of chemotherapy.

One fundraiser for Lydia is "Get Fit For Lydia" going on now at First Baptist Church in Owensboro. It's a co-ed boot camp for any fitness level and 100 percent of the proceeds will go toward Lydia's fight against cancer.
