Wednesday was another HUGE day for Team USA. Sure we suffered some unexpected upsets in archery and fencing (world #1 Brady Ellison went down in the Round of 16 in men's archery and two-time defending Olympic gold medalist Mariel Zagunis was bounced in the semis of women's fencing), but all in all it was a good day. U.S. gymnast Danell Leyva made an inspired comeback to take bronze in the men's individual all-around. Missy Franklin and Allison Schmitt gained additional golds in the women's 4x200 meter relay by upsetting Australia by nearly two seconds. And Nathan Adrian clinched gold in the men's 100 meter freestyle in a thriller! He won by .01! So, what does Thursday have in store for us in London?

The United States needed yesterday. We have been toe-to-toe with China in the overall medal count, but our biggest stars, like Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, hadn't quite been living up to their billing so far in London, though they rocked it out for gold last night in the mean's 4x200 meter freestyle relay! It just seemed like Team USA needed a great big jolt. And they got one last night, as the U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team just put a virtual beat-down on the rest of the world in the team competition. They won gold by over 5 points, a margin of victory rarely seen in a sport usually decided by tenths of a point instead. So, what can Team USA look forward to today?
