Photos by Dave Spencer I was watching a broadcast on one of the 24 hour news channels and the anchor was reporting about a woman who'd been missing for many years. And they put up a graphic showing what she'd look like today. They obviously had used some aging software for their purposes. I thought that was really cool and decided to Google "how will I look old." I came up with an awesome website--http://morph.cs.st-andrews.ac.uk/Transformer/. December 5, 2011 A listener called this morning to say she missed it last week when we aired an aircheck of mine from KKAL in Denver City, TX. in 1962. I recorded this newscast to send to another radio station to try and score a new gig.
December 3, 2011 WBKR's little buddy, Jimmy Parrot, has gone big time! Saturday, at the Hawesville Christmas Parade, Jimmy served as Grand Marshal, alongside his WBKR Waking Crew buddies, Moose and Tad! November 30th, 1961 Moon Mullins began his radio career and today marks his 50th year in radio that is quite an accomplishment in itself, a couple years ago Moon was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2009...Congrats Moon! Some folks, like Sharon Tucker (who snagged a Gaylord Opryland "Country Christmas" Vacation), won some pretty awesome gifts! November 7, 2011 A couple of years back, Moon and I were dared to eat sardines live on the air. And it didn't go really well. Moon bought a can of sardines that were coated in mustard and they were gnarly! Mine were coated in some kind of olive oil or sesame oil or peanut oil or motor oil! Whatever it was, they were just as bad as Moon's! But, we accepted the challenge, ate the sardines and paid for it the rest of the day. We both smelled like the coast of Maine for about 24 hours. So, we decided that it was time for Jaclyn to face her fears . . . and eat a nasty old sardine!
October 28, 2011 Moon & I started a WBKR Waking Crew tradition a few Octobers back.
