Owensboro has a reason to be proud heading into 2024. A local high student-athlete who makes it big at the next level, in this case, D-I college football is a rarity. Imagine if this student-athlete decided to forgo his senior year of high school to sign with a nationally-recognized university.

It was a hard fought battle, and LeBron James and the Miami Heat repeated as NBA champs last week. As with every major sport championship, the winning team takes stroll down the main street of their title city. It used to be ticker tape parades, but now, a little bit of everything is thrown in there.
