Can you believe this? The Grand Ole Opry turns 86-years-old this month! And the folks there are gearing up for a huge Birthday Bash this weekend. In fact, Friday night's show features Jason Michael Carroll, Crystal Bowersox, Charley Pride and more! And Saturday's show features Rascal Flatts, Ronnie Dunn, Craig Morgan and whole hand-full of Opry legends. On Tuesday, I headed down to Nashville to broadcast live at The Grand Ole Opry. It was a really special day at the Opry! A star-studded line-up had gathered for George Jones' 80th birthday concert celebration. The Oak Ridge Boys were there, Jamey Johnson, Alan Jackson, Pam Tillis and more were on hand to pay tribute to The Possum and I got the pleasure of listening to some of the rehearsal performances. It was REALLY cool! But, let's cut the small talk and get down to the business at hand! Not only did I get to be backstage at The Opry, I got to head over to the OPRY BACKSTAGE GRILL and stuff my big ole face. And, yes, I had a camera to capture every delicious bite!!

Jaclyn's Got Her "Bowl" Goggles On!

In case you haven't figured this out . . . Jaclyn is, for all practical purposes, a dumb blonde. Of course, she's naturally a brunette, so I suppose it's fair to say she's a dumb brunette who aspires to be a dumb blonde. Tuesday morning, she went to the restroom at The Grand Ole Opry and was "attacked" by an automatic toilet. In her words . . . "it had a very aggressive premature automatic flush and it flushed three times before I had my pants off!" Apparently, the gravitational pull of the toilet bowl was so strong, it yanked Jaclyn's sunglasses off her head and into the bowl. (Sidebar: As I am typing this, Jaclyn just walked up and said to me, "You wanna know why I don't wear rompers?" To which I replied, "Jaclyn, I don't know what rompers are.) And . . . now we're back to the story. Picture it. Nashville. June 7th, 2011. Jaclyn's sunglasses are floating in a public toilet. Check that! According to the midday genius, the sunglasses were being sucked and swirled into the depths of the bowl hole.

Spencer, Jaclyn, Monica the Twitter Gal, Alex the Intern, and I have been in Nashville all day broadcasting live from the Opry Plaza in front of The Grand Ole Opry! The CMA Music Fest starts up Thursday at LP Field, but the Opry is kick-starting the week with a huge Plaza Party tonight, featuring Eden's Edge and Jerrod Niemann (playing for FREE outside!)

Fans Get "CARRIED" Away!

Carrie Underwood fans got a HUGE treat this morning in Nashville! Carrie's most devoted followers were welcomed to an invitation-only fan club party at The Grand Ole Opry! When we arrived for our broadcast, fans were lined up from the Opry box office down to the parking lot. Among the fans who made the trip to Nashville, Sydney Smith of Owensboro, KY and her good friend Morgan Edgar, from Opp, Alabama! Sydney's a 5-year member of the Fan Club (which, by the way, is celebrating its 5th year) and a 4-year veteran of the Carrie Fan Club Party! This was Morgan's very first trip to Nashville for the big celebration! And the girls had a BLAST!!!

Two years ago at the Opry Plaza Party to kick off the CMA Music Festival, Jaclyn was 18 months pregnant. In fact, I'm pretty certain that Carsyn was crowning here at the show that made country music famous. See, Jaclyn and I brought cornhole boards down to Nashville and challenged folks to a little "friendly" competition. Despite the fact that Jaclyn's stomach looked like something out of the movie Alien, we were amazing. We played all day long and only lost TWICE!!! We are MASTERS of this game . . . or so we thought!

Once a month, I travel down to Nashville, TN to broadcast live Backstage at the Grand Ole Opry! It's an awesome gig, because I get to meet a lot of Opry stars, hang out with them in the green room, and have a "grand" ole time! Well, yesterday, I got to meet, for the first time, bluegrass star Rhonda Vincent, who strolled into the green room and had me at "Hello!"
