WBKR's American Idol expert, Steve Thompson, called it. Thursday, on the WBKR Waking Crew, he said that while Elise may have had her best week on the show she was likely going home. On last night's results show, she did. Which leaves us with five remaining Idol hopefuls. In sports this is what analysts call "Crunch Time." So, Steve is "crunching" the Idol numbers to give us his opinions about who is finale bound and who's headed for a heartbreak.

Last night on the American Idol results show, the words "ANOTHER SHOCK" flashed across the screen as the opening credits rolled. Were we really in for another surprise elimination? Well, the producers of Idol obviously thought viewers would be blown away by last night's result. But here at WBKR, our Idol expert Steve Thompson called it. And Colton Dixon, Tennessee's resident spiritual rocker, was sent home. And now, the Idol field is down to six and Steve shares his thoughts about who is currently in the lead for finale.

After weeks of saying goodbye to the ladies, American Idol, for the first time since we named the Top 13, said ADIOS to one of the guys! Nashville rocker Paul McDonald got the boot last night and his other friends in the bottom three, Hayley and Stefano, were sent back to safety! What does our Idol expert think about it all? Not kidding! I just ran from the sofa in my living room to the chair at my computer desk. I MUST BLOG NOW!! I have been overtaken by a blog frenzy! I am FURIOUS with the latest result on American Idol and feel compelled to share my thoughts about this show and what MUST BE done to repair its credibility. Yes, American Idol has given us some terrific talent. Kelly Clarkson completely deserved to win Season One. She was, by far, the most talented vocalist from the premiere season. Carrie Underwood completely deserved to win Season Four. Her success is indisputable. But I have said this before . . . if Kelly competed today, if Carrie competed today . . . neither would stand a chance of winning. And here's why . . .
