Tonight is going to be an awesome night in Whitesville. We are going to be Raisin' 4 Rollie! Our buddy Rollie Pike is battling a rare disorder that attacks his vital organs and he is in desperate need of a kidney transplant . . . a transplant that WILL happen in June, thanks to the fact that a first cousin of his has just been confirmed a donor match! This is tremendous news for all of Rollie's family and friends and we are getting together to celebrate and raise money for this guy who would truly do anything for anyone.

Here at WBKR, we get asked all the time about Goldie's Survivor, our long-running talent contest at Goldie's. It was a blend of Survivor and American Idol and hundreds of folks each year battled to try and make the 10-week finals. The contest was basically reality television on stage and the show sold out virtually every week due to equal parts of talent and on-stage drama. We often get asked how our former champions are doing. Season Two champion Teresa Cook continues to make fans as Kizzy. Season Three champion Shannon Sellers lives in Nashville now. Season Five champion Rollie Pike later went on to win the Battle for The Big O and is with us each year for our St. Jude Radiothon. And, now, we're hearing from Season 6 champion Michael Woosley, who just released a new duet called "Watch Me." Check it out!

If you've ever tuned in for the final stretch of our annual St. Jude Radiothon you have more than likely heard our good friend Rollie Pike. Rollie, who way back in the day won our 5th season of Goldie's Survivor, has become a true friend to WBKR-FM. Personally speaking, Rollie is a great friend of mine and truly one of my favorite people on this planet. And that is no exaggeration. I simply cannot put into words what I think of Rollie and how much he means to me on a personal level. This guy is incredible. But I can say this . . . easily. Rollie is one the most kindhearted and giving people you will ever encounter. He never hesitates to lend a helping hand and is one those rare guys who will be there you when call, every time you call. Unfortunately, as fate would have it, Rollie's now in need of help himself.

Our 10th annual WBKR St. Jude Radiothon presented by Poole's Pharmacy Care is coming up Thursday and Friday, February 21st and 22nd. And, again, we have many local celebrities and musicians joining us to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. This year's line-up is our biggest and best yet and we are THRILLED so many folks are sharing their voices, music and talents to help us in our efforts. Check out the full schedule of entertainment!
