Rough River

Be on the lookout for snakes at these lakes in Kentucky.

While swimming areas at other parts of the lake remain open, the main beach at Rough River State Resort Park is closed for the rest of the season.

When I was a kid, my grandfather use to take me fishing at Rough River.  And this was one of my favorite parts of each trip.  Seeing the Old Falls Mill building.  Built in the 1800's and a storied piece of Grayson and Breckinridge County history, the building is now in a virtual state of collapse and is about to fall into the river it once proudly watched over.
