Santa Claus A Finalist For "Most Fun" Town Again

For the second year in a row, Santa Claus is a finalist in the 2012 Best of the Road Rally sponsored by USA Today and Rand McNally. The town will compete with six other destinations in the category for “Most Fun” small town in America. Santa Claus, Indiana was chosen from more than 650 competing destinations.

As you guys know, Holiday World is #1 for family fun! But I'm not sure I have ever had as much fun as I did last week when I took Sam the Intern over to Santa Claus and cut him loose at Holiday World! We rode roller coasters, the bumper cars, the Liberty Launch and even had time to take in a friendly (or not-so friendly) game of Skee Ball! And, the best part of it all, WE HAVE VIDEO!!! So the other night, we piled in the car and drove through the Land of Lights in Santa Claus, Indiana. It's and updated version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer told in Christmas lights and it's very clever. And as I was driving, I was remembering both the song and the classic television special that I always loved growing up. The more I thought about them, the more I realized it never occurred to me when I was a kid that the lyrics of the song barely covered the material in the movie.
