Last night, the Top 9 contestants on American Idol tore into the songbook of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and, again, for the most part, delivered ROCKING performances. In fact, Moon and I were chatting this morning about the fact that this season of American Idol is very much like this season of Dancing With The Stars! The contenders are so evenly matched it's hard to pick a winner. And, after last night's show, it's hard to predict who's going on home. But our resident Idol expert, Steve Thompson, hits it with his best shot!

Last night, our remaining 11 contestants on American Idol took on the songbook of Sir Elton John, and, for me, it was the first time this season that contestants really showed what they're made of. From top to bottom, the show was one of the strongest episodes of Idol in years. So, who was the cream of the crop, the top of the heap? And who's going to say "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road!" We look to our Idol expert Steve Thompson to make his predictions . . .

The Top 12 American Idol contestants took the stage last night to perform songs from the years in which they were born. And the result: good, bad, and just downright ugly! Moon and I were chatting this morning with Steve Thompson, our American Idol expert, and we all agreed that last night's episode, if it did anything, separated the contenders from the wannabes!
