Ya'll know I am a huge fan of The X Factor. I have been blogging about it since the second season premiered a couple of months ago on Fox. If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, there is still time. Not only do we have a potential country-star in the making with Tate Stevens, we have a possible international megastar being born in 13-year-old Carly Rose Sonenclar. The child can sing anything. But last week on the show, she did the impossible. She took one of the biggest hits of the decade, mixed it up and actually sang Adele better than Adele. Not kidding. WATCH THIS!

There are many reasons why, but the primary reason is the $5 million dollar grand prize, the biggest of an talent show on television. I also think that grand prize means more at stake, more on the line, and more talent on display. Take, for instance, Carly Rose Sonenclar. This girl is just 13-years-old, but her talent is AMAZING!! Boot Camp continues tonight on The X Factor and you can expect big voices, big drama and big tears as the field gets narrowed to 24 tonight! Yep! Just 24 contestants will make it through Boot Camp and earn the right to visit the homes of their mentors: Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. It's another step to make it the live shows, where one contestant will win a $5 million dollar recording contract. And, if last week's drama was any indication, tonight's episode is going to be awesome! Check this out! Two contestants, Jillian Jensen and Latasha Lee Robinson, went head-to-head with Sugarland's song "Stay." One withstood the pressure. The other crumbled.

I am going to wear you all out with this. But here's the deal. While I like Blake Shelton on The Voice, I think he's pretty much the only reason to watch that show at this point. I think the talent is mediocre at best this season. Cee Lo continues to freak me out and what is up with that bird on his shoulder?? And, with her hand-held fan and that box fan she has blowing at her feet, Christina Aguilera has apparently developed a sweat-gland problem and is more irritating than ever. While The Voice is struggling to find talent, nurture it and manage it, The X Factor has more than it can handle. Over the last couple of weeks, I have been sharing some of my favorite auditions and here's another. This is Jessica Espinoza and, like Simon, I LOVE her and her voice!

There's a reason The X Factor continues to build its audience and even helped Fox win last week's ratings war. It is, as judge Demi Levato would say, AMAZING . . . and the talent is UNBELIEVABLE. Take, for instance, Jeffrey Adam Gutt, a 36-year-old single dad who, last week, took to the mic and belted out the most powerful rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" I have ever heard. There are MANY reasons to watch The X Factor and this guy is a huge one. He is a revelation and a contender. WATCH!

Week two of The X Factor and you know Benefield and Nashville Kat are HUGE fans of the show. If you haven't tuned in, we highly recommend giving it a look. The talent is CRAZY good and you truly never know what you are going to get. Take, for instance, Jason Brock. Last week, in the Providence auditions, Jason walked onto the stage and shared his vision of what his first concert tour would look like. The judges, particularly Simon, were on "freakshow alert." But then Jason started to sing. And he slayed Billy Joel's 'New York State of Mind!" Watch this!! Jason is proof that you can't judge a book or a voice by its cover.
