Last night's National Championship Game between #2 Alabama and #1 Notre Dame was a whole lot more #2 than #1 (pardon the pun). Alabama put the smackdown on the Fighting Irish 42 to 14. The pre-game ceremonies had more fireworks than the actual game, thanks, in part, to Zac Brown Band, who came along to sing the National Anthem. Take a listen!

Zac Brown Animates as 'Robo Redneck' in 'The Wind' Video

Nashville Kat told us this morning about the new video that Zac Brown Band are animated in for their latest jam ‘The Wind’ from the forthcoming ‘Uncaged.’ According to our buds at Taste of Country, the band didn’t hire just any old animator for this clip. They pulled out the big gun in the form of ‘Beavis & Butthead’ and ‘King of the Hill’ creator Mike Judge, who fashioned the hilarious protagonist Robo Redneck aka the Six Million Dollar Honky.

Zac Brown Band‘s "The Wind" is such a great song. Because so many of us at WBKR liked it, we played it right away. And, each time it plays someone calls to see what it was. According to our buddies at tasteofcountry.com, songs come together in an unusual way, but they always seem to work, as is the case with their current single. ‘The Wind’ lyrics just seemed to blow together, in a sense, the song’s co-writers explained to Taste of Country.

Uh oh! It's happened again. Zac Brown Band just unveilved their first single from their brand new Uncaged CD and alot of folks are scratching their heads. The song, which I love by the way, is called 'The Wind." They performed it at the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night and the crowd was totally digging the band's bluegrass vibe. However, some people, including our Nashville insider Nashville Kat, thought the song had a very familiar ring to it. In fact, Kat urged us to listen to "The Wind" then compare it to Glen Campbell's "Gentle on My Mind." She insists that Zac's song is THAT song . . . just sped up! And, you know what . . . she may be right! Take a listen!
