I'm not sure who originally said it, but my late band director Boyce Flener always said, "if you're early, you're on time, if you're on time, you're late!" I was scared to death to be late for school; I still have dreams to this day where I'm late for school. One high school in Utah has implemented a policy that will make students think twice about being tardy.

As I did more research, I found out there have been other schools who have tried the tardy fine system.

So is this a good idea? And who bears more responsibility in this issue, the student or the parent/guardian?
