I remember this well. And I wish I could find the pictures of me, at 11 years old, walking out onto the frozen Ohio to feed some ducks who were probably where the water went.

70 years ago, when my uncle was a kid, the Ohio River froze over and my mom reminisced about that a great deal back in January of 1977 when we went downtown to do just what HE had done...walk out onto the frozen Ohio. (I'm pretty sure my grandmother wasn't happy with him.)

I searched for video--which would have to have been transferred home movies on film--and all I could find was this one shot in Cincinnati.

But, hey, this is EXACTLY what it looked like here...minus that riverboat.
