The Chad Vs. Pizza Challenge
Last week, I had a remote at A PIZZA PALACE on Emory Drive in Owensboro. The owner of the restaurant, Adam, thought it would be a good idea to have a CHAD vs. PIZZA challenge while I was there. Now, my friends will tell you that I can flat out throw back some food. When we go to dinner, I will eat off other people's plates after I am finished with mine. Not kidding. But THIS pizza was no ordinary pizza. It was a 16-inch PIZZA PIE that weighed over 7 pounds! It's cooked like a pie, stuffed with mozarella and provolone cheeses and the toppings you ask for! Of course, like an idiot, I ordered pepperoni, bacon, ham and ONIONS (Wth???)!! But my tapeworm and I were ready! (And, yes, I have a tapeworm, or at least I pretend to so I have an excuse for being able to eat so much!) Let the "challenge" begin!!!
So, after eating this gigantic PIZZA PIE for an hour, I was starting to feel miserable. I had the Whitney- Houston sweats and my stomach felt like it was going to explode (like I had eaten a bag of Pop Rocks and chased them with a Dr. Pepper. LOL!). But I was determined to make a dent in that pizza pan despite the fact that the pizza was kicking my white behind up and down Emory Drive! So, what happened?
Yep! That's right! I surrendered. I called it quits because I was just one more slice away from Sweatin' to the Oldies with Richard Simmons. I was just one slice away from the next season of The Biggest Loser. I was just one slice away from being transported down Frederica Street in the back of a flat-bed truck strapped down like Jack Black in Gulliver's Travels!
And, shortly after surrendering, I had to run outside to do my last commercial break (Yep! I didn't hear my cue and had to hoof it like Flo Jo to the WBKR truck). Running was not the ideal activity after consuming 3 and half pounds of pizza!!!! I nearly hurled all over our Chevy Canyon. Two more steps and I would have looked like Linda Blair in The Exorcist. I guess it's a good thing A PIZZA PALACE is right next door to Sparkle Bright Car Wash!
But, speaking of A PIZZA PALACE, you should check out the PIZZA PIE for yourselves! It's available in 12-inch, 14-inch and 16-inch varieties and they are all RIDONKULOUS. In fact, WBKR's very own Jordan Winders stopped by the day I was taking the challenge to get his own PIE. He ate just two pieces then waved the white flag! These things are GINORMOUS!
At A PIZZA PALACE you dine in, or get carry-out or delivery. The number is 270-240-4983. Are you ready to take the challenge?
