The City of Owensboro Updates Blue Bridge Closures for Air Show

The Owensboro Air Show and annual Bridge Walk are this weekend and city officials have updated the schedule of bridge closures.  Here's when traffic on the Blue Bridge will be suspended over the next four days.

The annual Bridge Day event gives locals the once-a-year chance to walk the Glover Cary “Blue” Bridge downtown.  The event also features the Bridge Run 5K and 10K.  This year, the Bridge Run has an out-and-back route, which sends runners across the bridge twice!

Due to these activities, the Blue Bridge will close at 7am on Saturday, September 15th.  The run is expected to wrap up at approximately 9am, with the bridge set to open to pedestrians at that time.  It will remain open until Noon.  Shortly after that, the bridge will close to all traffic due to the Owensboro Air Show.

During the Owensboro Air Show and scheduled practice sessions (which begin today), the Blue Bridge will be closed to traffic at the following times:

Thursday, September 13 – Noon – 4:00 pm

Friday, September 14 – Noon – 4:00 pm

Saturday, September 15 – 7:00 am – 4:30 pm

Sunday, September 16 – 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm
