‘The Gong Show’ Revival [VIDEO]

Oh the nostalgia of the 70's. I couldn't believe it when I heard the news today that ABC is reviving this amazing retro game show! I grew up laughing, cringing, and asking Mom what the heck was happening on The Gong Show when I was young. My hope is that they keep some of the cheesiness of the original that made it so entertaining! I'm already not happy about one thing that is rumored to be missing.

The original Gong Show ran from 1976 to 1989 and it was a staple in the Birgy household. ABC has ordered 10 episodes and will have a revolving panel of judges with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. The show will be shot in front of a live audience which will be great, but it has been mentioned that one thing will be missing from this revival from the original. One BIG thing and I'm not happy about it if it's true. It has been rumored that a buzzer will replace the gong. Please say it isn't so! It isn't the Buzzer Show and now I'm worried it will just be another talent competition. Let's hope they change their mind and the gong is part of the show. It just has to be!
