This morning, I headed off to Louisville, with WBKR sales guy Bill Eidson, for a media tour and behind-the-scenes look at the KFC Yum Center, the brand-new home of the Louisville Cardinals.  If you guys haven't seen it yet, it is AMAZING and I highly recommend seeing a concert or sporting event there!

The KFC Yum Center holds over 22,000 people for Louisville Cardinal games, concerts, conventions and more.  I recently saw Lady Gaga there and was blown away by the facility.  In fact, I'm heading back there April 9th to see George Strait and Reba McEntire in concert and cannot wait to return!   That particular concert is in the round and, trust me, every seat is PERFECT!

Now, I realize that WBKR is Kentucky Wildcat Country, but any basketball fan will appreciate knowing who our tour guide was today.  Yep!  KFC Yum Center assistant general manager Robbie Valentine, who also happened to be a member of the 1986 Louisville Cardinal National Championship team!  In fact, that team is immortalized in a special museum section of the center devoted to Louisville Cardinal basketball!  (Yes!  I am a University of Louisville grad.  Yes!  I am probably a little biased.)

But, here!  This will amuse you Cats fans!  On the tour today, Robbie told us a great story about this year's Ky Wildcats, who came to the center in December and immediately started barking at coach John Calipari and demanding to know when they were gonna get an arena like the Yum Center.  Robbie said that Coach Calipari told the guys, "Hey!  Make the Final Four!  That will help!"  Well, guess what?  The Cats have made the Final Four and I have a hunch their list of demands is going to include a big old arena like the KFC YUM CENTER!

On our tour today, we got to climb in the upper-level seats, visit the suite area (which is lush and plush), and watch the crews assemble the arena floor to prep it for the Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus, which opens at Yum tomorrow night!  You guys have to head off to Louisville and see this arena.  It's state-of-the-art and is the combined product of the blueprints and designs of several NBA arenas around the country.
